What is the Top German Sites?
The Top German Sites is a new site just released in July of 2004 which provides
web site listings to the public that are of German nature.
Sites listed with us are ranked according to popularity.
If you operate
a German related web site that offers
information or sells direct to the public, we invite you to join our growing
list. It doesn't cost a thing to join and the amount of free traffic you
will receive will be well worth it!
How does the ranking system work?
Once you have created your account, you site will be added to the approval queue.
You will then need to add either a text link or one
of our banners to your site. The code behind your reciprocal link or banner
will have a unique id associated with it which you receive when you sign up.
We recommend placing this banner in a highly visible area for maximum results.
Our editors will then look at your site to verify the link and approve the
addition. Once your site has been approved, you will be notified and you can
start sending traffic. The more traffic you send, the higher on our list you
climb. The higher you climb, the more traffic you receive. Once a week, and
on every Saturday night, we reset our entire list which will set everyone's
in/out stats back to "0".
How will joining the Top German Sites benefit me?
By joining the Top German Sites, you will be increasing "targeted" traffic
to your own site since everyone that visits the Top German Sites is already looking
for something German. We all know that the more traffic you receive, the more
sales that are generated. When you place our banner or text link on your site
and someone clicks on the banner, your site receives a "point". The more points
you receive, the higher your listing climbs on our site.
I am not very good with html and coding, is it easy to implement?
Yes! Once you have been approved,
you will be able to log in to your account where you can retrieve the
html code with your unique id. All you have to do is copy and paste the
code into your site.
If you still need help, just send an email to info@topgermansites.com. We will
be happy to help!
Can we submit a site in the German language?
If your site is in the German language, but you also offer an
English version, please submit the URL which goes to the English
pages on your site. If your site is in German only, you may still
submit it for review, and it will be added if we feel it will
be beneficial to our viewers.
How do you join, and does it cost anything?
It's free to join! All you have to do is click on the "add
site" link
at the top or bottom of every page to create an account. Or simply click
here to get started.
How do I know how well I am doing?
You can simply log in to your account by clicking on the Login/Edit
Site link
at the top of every page. Here you can edit your site's information,
check your stats, retrieve a lost password and get the link syntax
for your html code.
What does the "in" and "out" columns stand for?
The "in" column represents how many visitors you sent to us and also determines
your ranking status on the Top German Sites. Sites with higher numbers
in the "in" column will be ranked closer to the top. The "out" column
represents how many visitors we sent to you.
I've been sending hits to the Top German Sites,
why doesn't my rank update?
Our system automatically re-ranks the list every 30 minutes. Please try
again and you should see the change in your stats.
What happens if I stop sending hits to the Top German Sites?
After 30 days of inactivity, you site will be removed. This does not however
ban you from our site, you can always sign up again. If we should notice
that you only send in one hit every day from the same IP, we will check
your site for an active code. If none is found, your site will be reset.
We do this to prevent web site owners from only clicking on their link
syntax from within our sign up email (cheating).
What happens if I forget my password?
You can retrieve it by clicking on the Login/Edit
Site link. At the bottom of the "Login/Edit Site" page you
will see a link to retrieve your password.
What about spyware, adware and those sorts of things?
This is a big NO - we don't belive in it and dislike it.
If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact
us.
